So WHO’S THIS NOW?

Though this photo may make you believe otherwise, I’m not starring in a sitcom.

Hullo! I wear many hats. Literally. I have almost forty. My Mama would say: “You don't have enough heads for those hats!”

I am a TV Director and a Producing Director. Ava DuVernay graciously asked me to direct two episodes of the second season of her groundbreaking TV series Queen Sugar (OWN.) Ava has changed the entire landscape (and the numbers) by specifically hiring female directors who had never directed for television before. She asked me to be producing director season three. In addition to producing the season I directed three episodes, including the premiere. The seventh and final (sniff!) season of Queen Sugar is currently available on streaming platforms. I had the honor to direct the last two episodes before the Finale which was directed by Ava herself!

I have directed on For The People ; The Red Line for CBS, How To Get Away With Murder, Station 19 and YOU for Netflix. I was also Producing Director on Self Made: Inspired by The Life of Madam CJ Walker on Netflix which starred Octavia Spencer and Blair Underwood who each won NAACP Image Awards (2021) for their roles, the series won too! I was Co-Executive Producer/Producing Director on Clarice - the TV sequel to THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS for CBS/MGM and directed the two-part season finale. And I was Co-Executive Producer of Naomi for Array/WB/CW about a female teenage superhero! I directed a pilot for Nkechi Okoro Carroll, Greg Berlanti and Warner Brothers called Found starring Shanola Hampton that airs on NBC (after The Voice) and on Peacock. I also did an ep of “The Girls on the Bus”, based on the Amy Chozick book Chasing Hillary for MAX.

Most recently, I was Executive Producer/Producing Director of Brilliant Minds, the NBC series based on Dr. Oliver Sacks, starring Zachary Quinto. “Brilliant Minds” premiered last Fall on NBC to 9 million viewers (I directed episode 103 and the season finale, get caught up on Peacock!)

I am also a Commercial Director, having directed over seventy spots. Including the 2024 Super Bowl commercial starring Edie Falco for PETA. “Don’t Take My Cheese Away”, which was Webby Award nominated and named the Best Celebrity Commercial by Entertainment Weekly. I’m repped by Sweet Rickey!

OH and I'm a Filmmaker (two features I wrote and directed premiered In Competition at The Sundance Film Festival and internationally at Edinburgh. LIFT was Kerry Washington’s first solo feature back in the day!) and I’m a Sundance Fellow, having attended both the Filmmaker’s and Writer’s Labs.

HUSTLE!*

*I get it from My Mama.
